Cascade Days 1st Annual ‘Road Kill’ Stew

August 17, 2008

 

 

Rules & Regulations

 

 

1)                 Meat must be FDA approved. No wild game or real road kill can be used!

2)                 Competition is open to anyone who has filled out the application, signed the waiver and paid the $10 application fee.

3)                 Stew must be prepared on site, from scratch. No pre cooked meat or other ingredients. Commercially canned items are ok.

4)                 Stew must be prepared in a sanitary manner following Skagit County Codes.

5)                 Your cooking area must be covered (canopy).

6)                 You must supply a cooking stove (propane or kerosene). No campfires.

*No electricity is available.

7)                 Don’t forget all your utensils, cooler for perishables, table and chair.

8)                 No use of campers or motor homes. Parking on competition site not allowed. You will need to unload then park in designated areas.

9)                 Bring a dishrag and container for bleach water. We will supply the water & bleach and have a sanitizing station set up.

10)            Stew must be hearty enough to be considered a meal.

 

Set up and cooking can start as early as 9am Sunday morning.

Judging will begin @ 3pm. Winner will be announced @ 4pm.

 

Winner will receive a gift certificate; Dinner for 2 @ the Birdsview Brewery.
